Victorian family plots: gates and chains

Saw someone else's very contrasty picture today that reminded me of this...so here's mine.

The Remembered

Succulents in bloom. From September. Near Dominique Dunne's grave.

Shelter from the Storm

Yesterday.

Coworker to me upon picking up my camera at work (after FedEx dropped it off ) and seeing me with an umbrella: "Cool camera. Whoa, hey, you're going to get it wet?"
Me: "Not my intention to get it wet, but to take pictures in the rain walking home. Though I know from experience I have a hard time composing while holding an umbrella but it will be fine."

30 minutes later- standing under a church to dry the thing off, listening to Testament on headphones, cursing the motion detector light...and nothing burst into flames. Thank God. LOL.

So...um,

I got my wife back. ;)

New photographs to come...soon.

for some reason I really like this picture

It's fuzzy and random but I like it for some reason.

Me, I'm not.

Random picture from the old camera in the old aspect ratio.

Guitar

One of the last images I got off my camera before the hardware failed.

*Happy Dance* at nearly 3 am

Canon accepted my repair under warranty. I'm supposed to get my camera back in ten days. *giddy*

Slight update...

Gotta ship my camera to some factory in Virginia where Canon will determine whether or not to fix it under warranty...

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Well, this is an unfortunate development.

My computer and camera have apparently had an argument and are no longer on speaking terms.

When I really bloody need my camera, when I need to take pictures, when I need this catharsis really, really bad right now...this happens.

They need to kiss and make up. I must get these pictures off my camera and onto my computer. I need my outlet so badly right now and I don't have it.

I was sad already but this seriously sucks.

The Mind Let Me Go

Despite having the urge to be creative, I haven't felt especially inspired. I don't need a muse; I just need an idea and I can't manage to rattle one out of my head...I feel artistically paralyzed.

[With-uh] Teeth[-uh] (*eats rodents)

The really trippy thing about this is that I found this squirrel skull on the cement border to a family plot in a pioneer cemetery first used in the 1850s. Click on it- it's strangely fascinating.

2 Jan 2010 edit- Now someone says this is a cat.

This grave was full of water and dead leaves...

the name and dates obscured by sludge and time...

but probably much enjoyed by birds.

Another short, unnecessary note.

I'm not always going to update so frequently.

Oaks 3

Enough of the oaks already. (Oak-ay.)
Maybe now I'm done?
The first one (on top) is as-taken. It was dark.

Oaks 2

Yeah. Almost done with the damn oaks already.

Oaks

No manipulation. The sky was that color.

Not sure if I like it or not though.
Too dark. The tree on the right bothers me. Meh.

Oak 3

Oaks are stretching the theme of this blog, but I'm an oak in Celtic astrology...so...there.

Oak 2

I still can't find the family graveyard just behind the Air Force base where my great great great grandfather is buried. It's somewhere out here.
