I wonder why you always see shoes hanging from wires? I think I heard once there is a reason, but I forget now. Must be tough to get them up there, lots of trial and error...
There's lots of urban legends about them but I believe it's mostly- monkey see, monkey do. Everyone's seen shoes hanging from wires, so if they find some, they tie them together and try to throw them up over some powerlines or something. Until we make it an Olympic sport...uh...yeah.
I took a picture of the boots near my friends' house 100 miles away because I thought, "You never see people do that with boots," only to see this week that someone hung some boots on my corner. The boots that they hung by my apartment are tagged too, as if it's the "gang territory" urban legend variation of the shoes-from-wires thing.
This is all my work. I took these pictures. I, me, mine. However, having said that, I don't Photoshop watermarks on my pictures because I don't believe in it- the practice reminds me of a jealous dog pissing on everything. I slapped a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 Unported license on this page because I'm really pretty much a socialist and don't care how much my pictures are "borrowed" provided credit is given (*cough* link back to this site) and no one else makes money off my work. Other than that...if you can translate Latin send me a message.

ReplyDeleteI've heard there was a drug dealer in the area. But that may just be an urban legend.
ReplyDeleteGood to have you behind the camera again!
