Forest Fire Moonrise from 10,463 ft.

Full moon. I nearly said last month, but it's still the same month; we just get a bonus blue moon tonight. I'm just not at 10,000 feet this time around to take a very good picture of it.

Solar Eclipse Shadows

As I value my sight, I didn't point the camera directly at the sun, but found shadows filtered through tree leaves to document the solar eclipse this afternoon. These are roughly in order from "near total" to "almost done".

Hmmm...not sure I like the "new" Blogger defaults as they will not let me use a label I've been using for some time now because it happens to have quotation marks in it. (Hint: the "abstract" category.) That's rather stupid, but whatever. Now I have two "abstract" categories for no good reason at all, just one has quotation marks and the other doesn't.

Lassen by the Full Moon (Experiments in Night Photography)

New Year's Blue Moon

There are other shots where the moon is bigger or more visible, but I decided I liked it lost among the branches in this composition- however, it *must* be seen large to appreciate it.
In other words, you really *should* click for detail!

You need to see the larger picture (again).
